EJ25 2.71ltr stroker kit - 800+ bhp!
This made me go all moist when I read it. Even if it is from 2007 and Australia ... should have an idea of reliability by now! Anyone got one?
Cost approx = GBP3,200
Cut & paste:
Here's a very new product to the market from Brian Crower (of Crower Cam's fame). It's a full EJ20 2.29ltr and EJ25 2.71ltr stroker kit
- BC 4340 billet steel crankshaft (79mm or 83mm stroke). Not an OEM -EJ25 crank.
- BC 4340 Econo or Pro Series steel billet rods w/ARP 220,000 psi fasteners.
- CP aluminum forged pistons (any bore size, any compression ratio).
- 9310 nickel carbon steel alloy wrist pins.
- Ductile iron plasma top rings, tapered second ring, low tension oil rings.
- Typically includes aluminum buttons/rail supports (not locks).
- Fully system balanced and ready to install.
The BC stroker kit for the Subaru EJ20 engine incorporates a proven 79mm stroke, steel billet crankshaft, not a factory STi or EJ25 crank. Depending on bore size that you decide, the BC kit will take you up to a 2.29L with a safe 96mm bore. As usual, each BC kit features custom CP forged aluminum pistons, premium alloy wrist pins, full ring pack and buttons. Big time power and torque gains. BC Econo rods rated to 600 horspower, BC Pro Series rods rated to 800+ horsepower.
The BC stroker kit for the Subaru EJ25 engine utilizes a custom, 83mm monster stroke, steel billet crankshaft, not a reworked factory EJ25 crank. Depending on bore size that you decide, the BC kit will take you up to a 2.71L with a safe 102mm bore. As usual, each BC kit features custom CP forged aluminum pistons, premium alloy wrist pins, full ring pack and buttons. Big time power and torque gains. BC Econo rods rated to 600 horsepower, BC Pro Series rods rated to 800+ horsepower.

£3200 for the engine internals only. then add for turbo, cylinder heads, injectors, 14mm head stud conversion, gaskets, adjustable pullys to get the best out of those high lift cams you will need, better spark, better fuelling, new ecu, oil breather system, better brakes, better suspension, much better drivetrain and gearbox plus numerous other things to consider that you dont reckon for when building a big power car. they soon add up.
so while £3200 + VAT for the interals looks like a great price, dont be fooled into thinking that you will get 800 ponies out of the box, you wont. spend another £20K and you might come close.
