Hey guys!
Well hello everyone im Ant, I hope to be spending a bit more time round here getting to know everyone and joining in the fun.
I've got 10-15k to spend on a scooby, im hoping to pickup a WR1 as I love the shape and colour. I've been keeping an eye on Pistonheads for a while but most of them are too far away from me in Cambridge.
I had a 93 WRX import a few years ago which I spent tons of money on, but I sold it due to getting a house and other family commitments. Now im in the mood for something a bit more grown up and If I can pickup a WR1 or something similer, I'll be over the moon!
Any ideas would be appreciated!

Yeah I know lol I think its alot of effort but its well worth it, especially the first drive once it's mine!
If I can't find one, i'll be more than happy with the standard 2004/2005 shape with a few mods. Don't spose anyone knows the actual difference in bhp between the two?
[EDIT]
WR1 - They had 316 bhp (236 kW) and 309.8 ft·lbf (420.0 N·m), an incredible 0-60 mph time of only 4.25 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph (249 km/h) (electronically limited).
Rev E (2004) STI - 300 bhp and 300 lbs-ft torque

For £10-15k you need to be aiming at a JDM spec car with the stronger, more powerful engine amongst other benefits.

Cheers guys, yeah your right.. you may have just swayed my choice How are the gearboxes & clutches in the newer models? is it a good idea to spend good money on uprated triple plate clutch, lightened flywheel etc?

Let's face it, what is a WR1 ? The 'special' colour was just a colour not sold in the UK, but available everywhere else as standard. The DCCD-A was due to be implemented on the 05 spec cars so that was pulled forward, although 05> cars benefited more from the revised Spec C geometry too. The rest of its special-ness was a selection of parts from the options list. The one really plausible justification of the WR1 was that you didn't need to declare its mods as mods to insurers.

I've got 2-3 months before my cash comes through, so plenty of time to learn about the newer models and scout the market for whats hot or not
