Default Tuner in essex area NEEDED

hi peeps,
i bought a MY03STI this week (thanks barnesy)
well it is a great spec'ed car but the owner had it mapped with pops 'n' bangs which sound great but living in essex is asking to get pulled over as the blitz nur r exhaust is plenty loud. I want to get rid of the pops n bangs, also want to get the car checked over and find a garage who i can trust and use for servicing, tune up etc etc... i'm in ilford area so any specialist garage contacts will be great

You have a choice......

For a remap you can have Jolly Green Monster, Dynamix, Mocom or even Pat Herborne.

For servicing etc Extreme in Boreham, Mocom in North Weald or the local Mr Clutch in Chelmsford (Scooby enthusiasts)

I am in the same boat as you and just live up the road in Chavwell Heath. I've been comtemplating taking my car to Extreme Scoobies in Boreham Wood, when servicing comes up around October time.

Extreme Scoobies are very good - had nothing but quality service from Paul when I had the Scooby.

i will also sound Paul out for praise, he will always put himself out to help you! As for the map tweak i would go for JGM purely because he caters for ecutek which i believe your car is running?

Best thing to do is find out who maped it originally and get them to tweek it,as they will already have your map on file> If you choose a different mapper they may not be able to see the original and have to start from scratch.

Whatever you do, don't go to Boreham Wood!

it'll depend on when it was last mapped using Ecutek's flash application.

If it was prior to 2008 (or there abouts) I can reflash your ECU with different maps; if all you want is the pops removed leaving all else as is then with Andy's consent I can do this for £25. This will cover the time it'll take to fire the laptop up, make a change to a couple of cells and flash your ECU with the updated map.
If however it has been mapped since Ecutek introduced their ECU lock the software I use will not provide access, further access is exclusive to Ecutek's software. I have access to their software but the cost will be significantly more.
FYI our remap pricing is £300 for all initial remaps with any future andremaps charged by the time taken to complete the changes - £99 for the first hour and £65/hr thereafter.

Thanks guys for all the replies, i will contact the previous owner and find out when it was mapped, i recal him saying it was about 2 years ago so i am hoping it is not locked. Mocom is there anyway of checking if its locked?
