Default WRX-S First service

Well just paid 189 quid for a first service not too bad, was told next 2 are about 220.

Whilst there was sat having a drink with sales manager and head of service and started talking about the new scoob.

You can place a deposit now, they reakon 29k ish for it, it will have more refinements, basically like the 330s, was and the STI should have been, maybe not sat nav but winterpack, recaros etc, didnt ask about power but i hazard a guess same as sti is now.

Talked about fuel and the 98 ron vs 95 ron we all discuss, basics are u can run any, ECU for UK will be ok, BUT 98 on STIs is reccomended due to the power and what your expecting from the unit.

What got me was the WRX-S on mine its 95ron clearly stated on the fuel cap, but becaue Prodrive have remapped etc, the sticker wasnt changed, so i should be filling it up with super for the power i expect, said it take 3 to 4 tanks for the doofy doo under the bonnect to adapt as its progressive as it monitors ya fuel, Service guy concured that this was the case.

So the next question is do i buy a new sti, think i,ll wait for specs to drop and internals etc, before i commit.

Also the WRX is being dripped dry in the UK with the STI the new model and the 5 door hatch being the only 1 you can buy. Reason being WRX is fuel thirsty as they all are, Tax is a lot and its sub 20k so doesnt sell great, not when you have Fords renaults Golfs etc with better Road Tax and fuel.

The new wide bodied WRX we have all seen has not yet been given the nod in the UK, so probably USA first as they did also get the boot first.

Obviously i take everything with a pinch of salt when a sales guy is talking, but the service guy about the fuel was new to me.

Also the WRX-S is the same map as the WRX is now 255ps or 260 BHP. All i get extra is my silver momo gearnob and STI spoilers :/ heh.

I bought my WRX-S in June 2009 and it had its first service a fortnight ago. It cost me nothing as it came with a three year free service deal. When did you buy yours, LT ?

The dealer was going to charge me until I pointed out that the car had a three year free service deal. He checked the registration on his computer and came back with, 'yes, you pay nothing'. Check your registration out, LT

that £189 includes a bullet proof service stamp for any warranty claim... money well spent (unless you could have got it free of course!)

yes your correct he mentioned the 15k tag.

But if u buy a petrol at 15k u wont get the PPP upgrade so he said, u gotta stump up the 18k list for them to warrent that baby

I think this is a big mistake if they get the price & spec right on the widebodied WRX i'm sure it would sell in UK probably in bigger numbers than a 29K Sti. Yes other GTI's may be better on road tax and petrol but no 4 wheel drive and not as cheap as WRX in some cases.

Yes 1st service 10k or 1 year

I agree with wide body but I suppose the numbers add up and time will tell

But I have to say from the standard impreza to the new sti is a big jump they must fill that gap with summat
