Default V5 STI wagon

Thinking about purchasing one of these as a stop gap (1999)

What sort of power output do these imports make?
Is mpg approx the same as UK ie. 20mpg?

Anything to look out for?
Are rebuilds common on these engines?

I've done a search but I have a feeling it would take me ages to trawl through all the results.

Any information greatly appreciated.

Thanks
K

is it the one for sale on SN ?

I've bought a couple of things off Scoobymoz which went pretty smooth

By the STiV wagon they had dropped the 8.5 :1 compression engine and power would be 260 BHP but my memory is a bit shakey with the wagon's LOL.

Still 280ps on the STI wagon of that year, not sure how you make a UK car do 20mpg the V5 STI should do about 18-20 in town, more on the motorway.
