strugling with car id for insurance they can not decide if it 225 or 265 bhp so some companies wont quote as unable to tell which model it is

That's a 2004MY Impreza WRX you've got. It will be 225bhp unless it has the Prodrive Performance Pack (i.e. PPP) fitted - or of course has been modified in some other way.
