this guy has a lot of support.... a lot of names on his list.
With the power of the net, I wouldn't be suprised if TOAD were the next company to go bust.
How can you possible approve someone without taking responsibility for their work.

Hey guys 'n gals
I tried to put the link to my website on Scoobynet this morning, but I changed my email address first. Dohh! I had to wait for a new password, it only arrived a couple of hours ago.
Also, can't speak highly enough of the guys from the RS Owners Club. Brilliant support. I'm impressed.
I am desperate to get as much support as possible.
I have tried to contact Toad through their website. 3 attempts, 3 Toad catalogues got delivered. I have written a long letter - nothing. Today I visited the Toad website and found they have a forum. I registered and added a topic suggesting people visit my site before they go Toad. The topic was closed within 5 minutes. It is still there but you cannot reply to it.
I then bombarded every email address at Toad I could find. Sales, support, forum moderaters. Within 5 minutes Toad were on the phone. The customer service manager, a Nick Gommon, said that this was the first he had heard of my problem. He was impressed with the detail on the site that identified all the problems with the installation.
He immediately offered to send their best guy around to install a new alarm free of charge.
He has passed the case to his director of operations. He was out of the office but they will get back to me. He has given me his direct number.
No mention of compensation, maybe that is for the ops Director to do.
I think they were surprised by the level of support and the feeling behind it. Every person that signed the book will talk to 10 other people. If someone is talking alarms, people will say things like "a guy on our board had terrble problems with a Toad alarm, avoid them". I don't think that Toad want that kind of publicity.
I appreciate the effort from all you guys 'n gals who have gone and signed the book. If you haven't you can go to

Steve,
Desparate news! Have signed the book.
I got a toad alarm fitted last December by Sextons in London. When they were finished (& I trust they did a good job, but I am now going to check more carefully!) they told me that Sextons owns Toad. Maybe you will have some luck by persuing it with them. Their London address is:
328 - 334 Old York Road
Wandsworth
London SW9 1SS
0208 8771148
email: mail@sextons.co.uk

What a nightmare Steve - hope you have some success in getting this sorted. I've signed your guest book as well.
Cheers
Chris
Steve - have you thought about getting a TV programme involved such as Watchdog? Lot of negative publicity is something Toad will not like.

Not a nice thing to happen.

that is horrific mate - they will listen or they will lose a hell of a lot of potential custom. Good luck battling them - we're all behind you.
Thanks also for putting up so much info about your installation and sending me a list of stuff to look for.
I will be checking mine thoroughly.....

YEs I've signed can't beleave that the suport from one of the "TOP" alarm manufactures is so poor and that the insurance company still continue to hide these getouts and loops until you claim.
Steve what exactly is the loop they claim in this case. you didn't have the certificate?? question is did they ask when they accepted your policy?? If not then surely that is their neglegence.
This sucks what ever way you look at it...
