Mapping options
Hiya!
What mapping options do I have? I've had a Blitz exhaust put on the car, and I'm going to be getting a Walbro 255 fuel pump.
I'd like the car to be mapped, and I'd also like the mapper to fit the 255 before mapping the car.
Firstly, does a mapper also fit things like fuel pumps?
Secondly, where in South Wales can I get the car mapped?
Thirdly, how much is it likely to cost? I have a standard ECU, I don't know if it has a license or not (how can I find out?)
Finally, am I right in thinking that a mapper can change the characteristics of a cars performance in order to suit the driver? For me that would mean I'd like the turbo to spool up as quickly as possible, and I'm not worried if that affects top end speed, which I never use anyway. I assume this is something a mapper can do?
Thanks a lot!!!
Chris

The mapper will get the best out of your car with your mods... that will include quicker spool up and as a result better throttle response...the top end speed bit is down to yuor right foot not the mapper
Mobile mappers on here start from £350 (Open)

Spool depends on turbo, and mods you have, but they will make the car run better and not as rich. Jolly green monster is mobile and comes to you. I think there are a few others.
On fitting you fuel pump, its is very easy, if you pull down rear seats, on the drivers side, you'll find a cover, think it has four screws, lift that off, pull out fuel pump and replace. The pump comes with instructions. One thing I would say is to make sure you have a nearly empty tank.
I went for spool rather then BHP. Went for a TD04 Hybrid, Andy Forrest. And found it is a very good turbo. On my UK, I got 300.1 BHP, and 310 Torque, so very pleased with it.

Cheers MrChips, great info and much appreciated!
I didn't realise that fitting a fuel pump would be quite so easy! I'm not very mechanical, but hopefully even *I* can't mess that up! I'll get one ordered now
As far as mobile mapping is concerned, thats awesome! I would have thought a mapper would need a rolling road or something, but I've never had it done before so no idea really!!
