Default quick ICE advice 2008 >>

Sorry for double post but need a fast responce and i presume a majority of us read in here more than ICE section, I need to buy today thats all sorry.........

Ok im looking at the JVC 830 as ive had JVC before and been happy with them, has good features Giga MP3 dual Bluetooth handsfree etc.

Question about installing

The silver bit around the normal stereo im presuming its this i need to flip off, Its tighter than a nats chuff, is it a case of pull till it unclips ?

Once i have this off i presume i just unscrew 6 cd changer headunit and pop new one in,
Will i need an ISO adaptor to marry up with the Subaru connectors ?

Also there seems to be another adaptor so i can keep steerign wheel controls any advice on this ?

Last question really, the door speakers in the WRX and i presume same in the STI what size are they, the guys trying to flog me some Pioneer ones for it, is there a vast diff if we replce the standard ones or are they ok ?

Thanks all

Ted

The stereo surround is held on by 6 gripper clips, so yes, slip a flat headed screwdriver (using a credit card to shield the lower plastic trim) in the gap below the central air vents and the silver trim, then just tug it off from the bottom up.

(the edge you are aiming for is the one just above the hazard switch

thanks, i notice yours looks diff, but im presume its cos youve modded your vents.

I managed to get it off easy enough using your tactics.

next thing i suppose is what leads i need.

Im told im gonna need an ISO to marry up with the scooby one, But im also aware there is a lead to connect my steering. My question is

Do i need both or does the steering lead cater for both ISO and Steering.

And will i need then one of those arial adaptors.

thanks for info

Sorry Ted that's the limit of my knowledge... (only knew that because of the vent pod install I did).

Good luck with finding out what you need to know.
