Rear bumper

Hi all...
Just given the car a quick polish and notisted the rear bumper paint work not nice and flat like it was .....
My question is what could cause this...
Is it as simple as it looks and its the exhaust getting so hot its melting it ....
Or what ???

Having owned 2 'white' Impreza's i have noticed that the rear bumper can get abit yellow, which i assume is caused by the exhaust & all that anti lag. Comes out with a good polish. Havent noticed anything else though. Maybe it needs compounding & a good buff.
