Default What is a mint P1 with pucka mods worth?

Just after some idea on price for a a P1 thats covered 60k with a fully forged engine running 400bhp (only 15k on engine). No smoke or unusual noises, Dogleg box, 6 pots brakes. Im unsure of the rest at this moment but the car is mint and always dry stored and used at weekend during the summer only.

Thanks
Rob

There is much more that I havent listed about the car as im not 100% sure of the spec of it all, but I think it has a full nur spec, MD turbo, ported headers, Whitelines, mint P1 alloys, FMIC, uprated suspension, etc. Its basically the cleanest example of a P1 that i have ever seen that is fully prepared for road race.

depends how much the buyer wants to pay for it, personaly i'd go for around 9-9.5k max, but, it depends on if you can find the right buyer for the right price

£8-10k if a "normal" Scoob running 400hp as it'd cost £15k+ to get it there. I'd say £9-11k as it's a P1 which is the best looking classic ever IMHO.

TX.

PS

P1 owners seem to price their cars high. I'm not sure if they get bought at that high price though

A standard P1 is worth the money .... modified tat isn't worth much IMO.

But, of course, if someone loves it then it will achieve the agreed value between seller and buyer - obviously.

Honda Civic forum quiet today Pete? Or is it a bit boring

I suppose their idea of a modification is changing the lavender air freshener...just up your street! (but no angles for you either )

what do you mean by a dogleg box???

I'd want to know the history of every component - buying something like this the running gear & engine are way more important than good bodywork IMHO

Cheers

Dogleg box = racing transmission in my opinion. Its an alternative gear layout with stronger internals. In some cases straight cut gears.

A dog leg gearbox is an unusual manual transmission layout, an up-over-up shift between first and second gear resembling the hind leg of a dog.
Typical 5-speed layout:5-speed Dog leg layout:
Dog leg layout gearboxes are usually found on performance automobiles because in road racing it is rare to shift into first gear other than for the initial start or exiting a pit lane

Deduct £5k if the owner describes the mods as "pucka" .

It sounds like your guessing what it is!

An Impreza 'box will only operate in the standard configuration as shown in the std 5 speed layout due to the internal mechanisms and outer casing of the gearbox. unless of course the car has a completely unique gearset and casing?

If the seller is calling it a 'dogbox' so called because the gear engagement teeth are called dog teeth then you should find out if it is a true dog engagement gearset or a syncro engagement.
Many people seem to confuse straight cut gears and syncro engagement as a dog box - this is not correct
A true 'dog box' is something quite different

There is one on there almost identical to how the OP described, but the bottom end has gone. Very nice spec otherwise and he's wiling to let it go for £6.5k.
