How is it FREE - if you have to pay something?

Giving the monthly cost may help your sales ........

You'd do better to tell us CURRENT customers of a decent deal !

IMHO.

Apologies, prices start at £18 a month for the Sky+ and £28 a month for the HD pack.

There are 6 channel packs:

Variety - Sky 1,2,3, FX, Hallmark, Living etc

Knowledge - Discovery channel, National Geographic etc

Style and Culture - Food, Arts, Travel and international channels

News and Events - All news, horse racing and Eurosport

Music - Music video channels

Childrens - Disney, Boomerang, Cartoon Netword etc

For both the Sky+ and Sky+HD packs you get one free channel pack free plus the freeview channels. Each additional channel pack costs just £1.

The premium channels:

Sky Sports - split into Sky Sports 1 and 2, each is £9, if you take both you get 3 and 4 free.

ESPN - usually £12 but discounted to £9 if taken with Sky Sports

Sky Movies - Spilt into 2 packs:

Sky Movies pack 1 - Comedy, Family, Drama & Romance, Modern Greats and Classics

Sky Movies Pack 2 - Comedy, Action & Adventure, Crime & Thriller, Sci-Fi & Horror and Indie

Each pack is £8 each, if you take both you get Sky Movies Premier and Sky Movies Showcase free.

Also if you take both the movies packs in HD you get Disney Cinemax and MGM HD.

Packages can be tailored to suit viewing tastes, channel packs can be added at anytime (added within around 30 minutes), and removed with 30 days notice (due to billing cycles).

If you require any other information please give me a call.

Thanks!

tathan - you don't have to sign up fo the movies or sports. Just need to choose a minimum of 1 channel pack to be eligable for the deal.

dunx - sorry about that, current customers can get a free HD box, with £60 installation, or £30 if taken with multiroom. If you currently have a Sky+ box you can take the self set up option and it will be free (this is due to you already having the 2 feeds required for the HD box). Please note £10 will be added to your bill for the HD content.

Thanks!

Tried changing the thread name as per your request to something more suitable 'Butty' but could only change it on this page not on the main index for some reason.

Thanks

£10 a month for a touch more detail on a few channels???? I might consider it if "most" channels could be viewed in HD....

How about current customers cancelling their contract & then getting a new customer deal although you'd have thought Sky might treat us as well as new customers Oh & Virgin do free HD+ boxes with 160 channels for just £29pm

TX.

My old shy plus box would not work, so I rung sky up to inform them I have only had this box just over a yr.
The bloke on the other end told me that they stoped doing the sky plus box, and I would have to get the HD box if I wanted to pause live tv. So by the sounds of your thread they still do the old sky plus box, and I have been miss sold HD at a cost of £10pm.
Now what do I do as this is fraud no.

Brun - do you have Sky at the moment, if not you could go with the Sky+ box, due to the original Sky+ box being discontinued you would get the HD box just without the subscription. You would still get access to the free to air HD channels (BBC HD, ITV HD and Channel 4 HD) which makes it ideal to watch the world cup.

You can always upgrade your contract at a later date to include the HD if wanted. Although you would need to have HD for a minimum of 12 months. For example if you decide to take the HD subscription a month after the original installation your contract would continue for 12 months more.

Also at the end of the 12 months you can remove the £10 HD subscription if wanted. Or you cab cancel Sky and use the equipment for Freeview as the dish and box are your property.

Hi, no you were told correctly that the old style Sky+ box has been discontinued. Sky now only do the HD box with or wihout the HD subscription.

As an existing customer you had 2 choices, either to get the Sky+ box without HD content, the box would be £99 and installation £60 (£30 with multiroom) or get the Sky+HD box with the £10 a month subscription, and get the box free. I'm fairly new to the company so that is the best I can explain it.

I used to work for the exactly same "department"(I use the term loosely) as you J_81, I really hope you didn't leave a good job (like i did) in the promise of making a fortune in your first year.

Just to let you know, by posting this up you have in effect signed your death warrant as this would be deemed is gross misconduct and as far as I'm aware you can only sign up people in person at an official Sky kiosk.

I didn't leave a job for this, I was made redundant from an Information Management role at a large engineering company and was out of work for nearly a year. Couldn't get anything during that time and it wasn't for not trying hard enough.

I have only given my location and phone number for people to call or come see me. I believe I've done anything wrong.

If you currently have a standard old SD box or old sky+ box and want the new HD box with HDMI output etc to truelly benefit from HD (free channels or paid for channels) word your conversation correctly and you can get the new 500gig HD box and the 2nd input from the LNB (if have the very old 1 feed only setup) installed all for FREE no need to take out the £10 a mth package either, just view itv/bbc etc HD channels for free
