Default Front Bumper & Bonnet Respray

I'm wanting to get my front bumper resprayed due to the usual stone chips, and I also have a small dent on my bonnet which I'd like filling, then the whole bonnet respraying inc the scoop.

How much roughly should I be looking at? Will they spray them still attached to the car, or will they removed them? Also, if they fill the small dent in on the bonnet, the filler shouldn't ever crack/fall out should it?

They might seems stupid questions, but I've never had any bodywork done before.

Cheers

Does the dent have a crease in it? It might be able to be pushed out. As for painting, they will almost certainly take it off to spray it, if they are not complete bodgers! Get them to make you up an aerosol and touch up with the paint they make up while they are at it!

No, it's not creased, it's just from where a stone hit it after it was chucked up from a car in front. I went to get it pushed out, but the guy said as the bonnet was double skinned, he couldn't get to it....he did try though as I was watching him.

I might take the bonnet and bumper off myself maybe then to save a bit of coin. Although I am a lazy ****, so may just let them do it, lol.

Good idea about the aerosol too

Yep, the will spray off the car, so removing it will reduce the cost (well, it has done for myself)... although if they're doing the bumper and bonnet, they may suggest blending into the wings, so they may require a splash of paint too.

I'm getting both front wings and whole bumper done next week. Some **** dinked my o/s front wing (and cracked sidelights) but dent's been removed, so it's just a respray. It was suggested that for colour blending that the n/s wing was done too. Hate silver!
I believe wings will stay on and bumper will be removed if that helps you.
As for price I'm on mate's rates for this one but I got quoted for local company £470 for just the o/s wing and bumper, so reckon yours will cost about that or more. Good luck!

£470 is pretty steep.

I've just spoke to a mate who had his bumper sprayed at the place I'm going to, and that was £150, so I'm thinking maybe £300 tops....and I will probably take the parts up there already off the car I think.....depending if they think they'll need to blend the wings or not.

yeah I took one look at the quote and put it in the bin...

Not bad price - I'm paying £250 shhhh for all my work. If your car isn't silver you may get away with not blending the wings. Hopefully!

Spot repairs id charge 70.00 per panel, so would be 140 for bonnet and bumper. Thats basically paint and blend repair'd area then lacquer whole panel. For full panel painted you would need to blend it so its 4 panels 2 X wings, bumper & bonnet would work out at 280. Also as the guy above said take them off the car, unless there changing colour theres no need, cant blend panels off the car tbh would end up a mess, its all about the attention to detail masking and making sure the whole car is masked to avoid over spray. Shop round mate, you will get a good enough quote. Like i said i charge 70 a panel most shops do that but some just make it up as they go along. Obviously it goes on ammount of repair work, if i was to repair a bumper, would be a diffrent matter as it goes off time. Prefrence is to remove the bumper as you dont want a colour coded rad etc, but bonnet and wings can stay on car

Interestin, Shaunyboy. Sorry to hijack the thread but I have a keymark down the back of my bootlid, long and deep. What kind of price to repair and spray?

Well went up for a quote.....

To fill in a dent on the bonnet, remove all necessary bits, and spray the bonnet, bumper, and wings I got a quote for £400.

The wings are going to be sprayed rather than just blended, as there are a lot of stone chips on these as well.
