Default Turbo on 97 wrx ?????

Hi Guys, help needed,
I have a 97 wrx, car started to over boost so took the car to scoobyclinic, car was originally set on 1.2 bar,
the guy said it was overboosting because of the uprated turbo on the car (VF22) and decat exhaust, so he set the the turbo down to 0.6 bar (car no longer overboosting) and said this is just a temporary fix, and i need to get the car remapped (obviously need new ecu cos 97,s cant be remapped)!!! Car has been running fine for 7 months and suddenly just started over boosting !!!

Very confused now, cos everyone is saying the VF22 is standard on a 97 !!

So why was it overboosting ? the turbo ? the decat ?

Help please !!!!

Thanks

The decat may have caused it. This isnt the first time that SC have been completely wrong about which turbo belongs on which car and its a fundamental mistake.

Speak to Andy at Enduring Solutions Ltd (ESL). Theyre testing an ECU upgrade/alteration thatll suit you down to the ground and they need volunteers..

Vf22 is standard fit on your car. Pretty poor mistake imo!
