Trading a car but not purchasing one
Has anyone traded a car with a dealer, but just pocketed the cash and not bought another car?
I assume scooby dealers will know a good seller when they see one and offer more than a non franchise dealer?
Advice needed.

As above really mate^^^^ if you want the best price you can get, it is private sale all the way!! Any trader no matter what level they are will give poor money in relation to its true market value..............

selling to a dealer is as easy as selling to a private buyer and i wouldn't dismisss doing it just for the sake of a few phone calls to garages.
no doubt, you'll get a lower than market price offer. but you never know, your spec of car might be what a dealer has been asked to find by a customer. you might be lucky.
my sister sold her old volvo to a dealer and was given £300 less than the private sale value (a 3k car) so factor in an advert and the **** ache of tyre kickers and it wasn't a bad deal.
give it a try, what have you got to lose?
