Default Any Difference in the WRX and STI bootlids?

Hi,

I just phoned subaru to check the difference in number and bolt hole layout between the two. They said that the STI lid has more holes for the larger spoiler which makes sense obviously.

My question is though will an STI spoiler still fit onto a WRX bootlid ok without modification and will it be as strong as if it were attached to the STI bootlid? Or would it require the additional holes to be drilled into it to attach the STI spoiler?

Anyone here who can shed any light on this?

Thanks.

The torsion bars (twisted bars that lift the lid) on an STi are stronger to deal with the extra spoiler weight. Fit one to a WRX and be careful with your fingers.

You will need to drill the boot lid to take the extra bolts the sti spoilers requires to mount it correctly mate.
Not a total nightmare to do if you are mechanically confident.

It will be secure just using the holes for your wrx spoiler. If you want it extra secure then you will have to drill a couple more holes.
