Default Clutch questions

Hi all,

I have a strange problem which I hope you can help with. I own a 99 UK Turbo. The other day I noticed a slip in 3rd and again in 4th at around 3.5K revs which lasted about a second each time and then caught again at 4.5K revs.

I have only seen this twice, and I have tried to reproduce it by giving it a little welly in 4th from around 40, but it seems to pull fine again in every gear??

I haven't noticed any performance loss, and the clutch biting point isn't unusually high (owned a few classics now so I have a base for comparison!)

It just seems like a really random slip, don't know if this has any bearing on it but both times were on a corner giving it some beans!...Do you think this is its way of saying the clutch needs replacing?

Car has done 82K miles and as far as I know, this is the stock clutch.

Annoyingly I was actually going to be swapping it with another (more practical) car, but I can't consiously do that if I think it mine has issues.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Simon
