Default smoking on start up

hi all,just after a bit of advice,ive noticed on initial start up when cold i get a puff off blue/grey smoke from exhaust which only lasts a couple of seconds rhe car is sti hawkeye 35000 miles running stage 2 350bhp,any ideas

not sure on the 2007 2.5 but smoke on startup with the 2008 2.5 means the piston ringlands are cracking.

Get it checked out if I were you.

ive got exactly the same symptoms from my freshly built forged 2.0l, i think turbo is on its way out and seems to be whining, worth checking the turbo aswell.

i use to have that problem on my rebuild and it turned out to be valve stem seals and valve guides, after they were replaced everything was fine
