Default new to forum and after a bit of guidance please

Hi folks, im josh and im new to the forum. im hoping to buy my first impreza soon and have seen one for sale near where i live at the sort of budget i'll have.

its advertised as a 1997 wrx sti 555.
as i haven't been to see it yet, i only have the details it shows in the ad.
my main question is: is it a version 2 or version 3 wrx sti? (im thinking with the shape of the bonnet vents and front grille that its a 3?)
also, its my understanding that the 555 came as an RA and a V-Limited?
is this one a v-limited (as it has rear wiper and aerial on rear quarter?)

as i am very new to the impreza scene, could someone give me some pointers to look for to check this is a genuine wrx sti 555 (do they have a numbered plaque or anything?)(also, ive seen other impreza's of similar age with blue seats?is that another model again?)
what sort of equipment should it have? do these have the adjustable diff / intercooler water spray etc...?

is there some knid of model listing database on this site at all, with all the different specs of the millions of variations there seems to be? and what the chassis / engine code should be.

also, a general buying guide would be very useful (i'd imagine there is one here, could someone point it out please)

any help or advice you can give would be much appreciated, as i want to get it right!

thanks very much all.
