Can it have a TowBar fitted?

I'm asking this because an amazing lot of cars cannot Tow these days!

The S3 Quattro I took out at the weekend cannot have a Towbar! But the A3 Quattro can! Go figure that one out!

I know the non-STi WRX can have one fitted - but would the backbox of the STi, with its 4 outlets, get in the way?

When I bought my car in 2000, I did look at the P1 as well - but it had a sign in the door opening saying this car is unsuitable for towing!! Probably because it was down on power from the standard car?

Also, you may know .... if the WRX has ppp fitted new - would that lift it into the Tax Band M? I mean is it considered in the road tax? Obviously, if it was aftermarket it wouldn't raise the tax band ...... but what about if the Dealer fits it before you buy it?

PPP is supposed to be fitted post registration, therefore not affecting the tax bands

Yes, you can have a tow bar on the hatch STI no problem, Subaru do one as an OE option
