Just a quick note to say thanks to Hugh Ellaby (aka 'Huge') and his company Stapleton's Tyre Service.
I arrived back from Spain yesterday evening after 2000+ miles of 'spirited' driving to find my Pzero's totally knackered. After posting up a request for Hugh on Scoobynet, I phoned him and explained the situation. I knew that I had to go to Derbyshire today (350 mile round trip) and I didn't fancy doing more miles on the current Pzeros (and 225/40ZR18s aren't exactly the sort of thing your local Kwik Fit keeps in stock)
So Hugh arranged to got hold of a set of S03s and personally delivered them to my door at 7:30am this morning. I took them down to Stapleton Tyres at Hertford at 8:30am where they were fitted for £43 - can't say fairer than that, especially as it took a little while and the guys did a very professional job.
We can be very quick to criticise, but it is also important to praise companies whose customer service goes beyond what you would normally expect. So once again, many thanks Hugh, it was much appreciated (and the tyres feel pretty good now they've had a gentle run in ).
PS - This post was intentionally put into 'General' as I think it deserves a wider audience rather than just 'Wheels & Tyres'
Cheers
Chris

Chris,
Thanks for the kind words.
I'm sure that we aren't the only tyre business willing to try to deliver value to the Scooby community. ALL businesses appreciate positive customer feedback, and like others we're always willing to take criticism on the chin too.
Hopefully a few quid cheaper than a few rather more well-known national chains too
Just an addendum to note that for those of you favouring Goodyear F1s - a new pattern is being phased in & is likely to involve a significant price hike of between £20 & £30 PER TYRE to the average punter. We've already sold out of 225/40/18s so if you're thinking of buying F1s I strongly suggest that you speak to your friendly tyre dealer now.
Hugh
PS Dedication from Chris - already downloading his rally photos at 730 am!!

Another nearby branch of the aforementioned tyre store trashed a guy I know's NSX wheels whilst changing the tyres - although to be fair, I think they did end up refurbishing them after some messing about. I guess these things are a bit of a lottery.
