Default how do you know if its a JDM model sti

hi all. was looking at getting a impreza sti in the very near future and came across one that claimed to be a JDM(jap) model. did the text check and all it said was 'sti model'. reason im asking is the car is pretty far away and can only realy view it the day i collect. if i decide to get itits. from a dealer but they are as usefull as my missis when it comes to cars and im still waiting for an answer on wheather it has the twin scroll and uprated internals.
cheers.
