Hi folks

Did the jdm sti have the low level spoiler fitted as standard and also privacy glass.
Getting confused comparing uk to jdm ones so any help on the differences would be muchly appreciated.

chances are your talking newage..

jdm will have xenons, rear wiper, rear privacy glass (not tint film), wind deflectors (unless they been taken off) and i'm pretty sure high rise spoiler, never seen a JDM with low level. some other indicators would be the wipers/indicator on opposite sides?

 

JDM cars have a rear wash/wipe UK classics don't that is the biggest tell tell sign.Not all JDMs had privacy glass as standard (just the type R iirc) and the low level spoiler was fitted to JDM from 92 to 95.

I have a 98 sti and it has rear tints (privacy glass)..

 

52 bugeye should have rev limit to 8k
auto IC spray
xenons
privacy glass
rear wiper
wind deflectors
high rise spoiler
IC waterspray tank in the engine bay at back rather than boot which uk have

 

Reason i ask about the spoiler is looking at some photo's on the net some have the low level ones and the car we have just bought does have a high rise one but I dont think its a genuine spoiler and been replaced at some point???

 

if its not genuine, must have been an upgrade the preevious owner has put on?

mine came with low level and has a replica high rise spoiler on

tbh mine is a crap copy, shocking. so many ripples in it, but it doesnt really bother me, so ive left it

 

ALL WRONG,

The Bug-eye JDM STi did come with a low level spoiler as standard.
I imported one new back in 2002 and it arrived with a low spoiler.

The UK STi standard model, also came with a low level spoiler. Only the Prodrive styled bug-eye came with a high spoiler.

It wasn't until the blobs that the UK and JDM cars came with a high spoiler as standard.

They didnt come as standard but it was a factory option
Spec C's prior to 2005 had the low level spoiler as standard.

I have a 2003 JDM STI and mine doesn't have xenons, not all jap cars had them.

 

Am I right in thinking the jdm has more power as standard too. (Just curious as ours has a panel filter and mongoose exhaust so need to class them as mods for the insurance)

 

Out of the box the JDm is better, it will have a better turbo etc etc. Give Moley a ring at kieth michaels and it won't mkae any difference on the mods to the car for the price

 

JDM WRX 250 PS as standard, JDM WRX STi 280 PS as standard
