Angry 330s Stolen early hrs 18/04/2010

Anyone in the Huddersfield area.

If anyone sees a suspiciously stolen looking dark grey 330s parked somewhere (B17WJW) but probably on false plates now, please report it, it could be mine.

House was broken into and the burglars sought only for the keys to my car, nothing else appears to have been taken.

My tracking system has been delivered back to me by the police along with my front vents, passenger carpet ripped out and various panels missing, so I guess that makes it quite distinctive.

Please keep a look out, hopefully it will be recovered.

Thanks guys.

I'm on Subaru no. 5 and had one since 1998, never had a problem ever with theft/vandalism in 12yrs.

I can't help wondering if at the time your insurance is up for renewal and you're doing your online quotes (only with the usual companies I hasten to add), you type in your details and give away all your details of address etc.. and hey presto... How do you know these details haven't slipped into the hands of the wrong people.

Probably me being paranoid now, but it makes you think how it could have happened.

Have to agree with Kingtiger, Thieving scum. Had bits nicked off my car this week so sort of know how you feel.
Would chop the b@st@rd$ hands off if I caught them.

Ok questions then, Firstly hope you get the basts m8, feel for you, some real scum about.

So regarding the tracker, am i correct in thinking that it was taken off as they knew where it was ? If so can anybody recommend a diff model to have fit or have the robbers got tools nowadays to switch them off ? sorry i dont know much about em :/

Are there any other deterrents such as Microdots or that funny water stuff ? that anybody thinks are good ?

anyways hope it works out for you m8ty.

At the end of the day all security systems do is slow the theives down not prevent them these days as 5 mins on the net you will find every thing you need to by pass any alarms and trackers.

this is a upsetting time for you WJW in a real world i hope you find it.

what you should do is keep your eye out on ebay for parts that look like there of your car you never know they might pop on there.

Half the problem is people of forums like this posting details and pics of security systems which is only going to aid thieves.

I don't agree fully with that, Most car owners "Believe" and suckered into the "Technology" of car alarms out there. But all this technology will only "Fox" you, me or opportunist thieves. Will not stop "Car thieves".

To every Technology there is a "back door" or a "Technology" to over power it.

why are the front panels are always "pulled"?? every "car thief" knows why and I know why but most Subaru owners don't.

" Tracking" system positioning is the worlds worst kept secret, generally due to being in a place that will receive a GPRS signal and unable to send a message if GSM is blocked.

YHM

I would never invest £1000 on electronic wizardry, i would invest in mechanical devices such as big yellow steering wheel locks and gear change lock

Most professional thieves nowadays rent particular models out to work out all the security systems. Sounds like this was stolen to order, and is probably in a container by now ready to be shipped out.

Feel sorry for you mate, but as was said previously, at least they found the keys and didn't disturb or threaten you and your family.

The usual M.O. is to drive around late at night a photoshoot, prime candidates, then steal to order. At least they aren't so cocky that they were willing to break-in whilst you were there.

I fitted a fuel cut-off solenoid to mine, so a HIAB is needed once the tracker has been dismembered. Or they can tow it away !

I worry about, taxi drivers, pizza boys and Asda drivers too
