Default Dealer servicing - midlands

I've had two services (12/24k) on my Forester 2.0D XC at Beechdale Derby. Each time, there's been a couple of issues that needed looking at, and each time on collection, I've pretty much got the same reply - either "They all do that" or "We couldn't find anything wrong". The first refers to a baulky gearbox change that is gradually getting worse (both services). The second to an engine noise when cold/under load that sounds like a bag of spanners has been left in the engine. It just feels like they aren't taking customer comments seriously. I wouldn't have minded so much, but I even took the car in the previous day so they could start it from cold to check the problem the next morning.
The cars on a lease, so I have to use a main dealer - location-wise, I'm stuck with Beechdale or Heritage Leicester. Beechdale have recently become a Hyundai dealer, so Subaru/Alfa seem pushed out a bit. Any opinions on these dealers?
