It's cold when you get there.
Before you start it do the following.
Oil levels, gearbox and engine.
Hoses and pipes.
Coolant level and sludge on the coolant header tank cap.
Wheels and tyres for uneven wear and buckles.
Body work shut lines and paint colours are all matching. Check inside the boot and the engine bay for body work.
Service book and two key fobs. Make sure both fobs work on the car.
Lights and electrics work before you even start the car.
Interior for burns and rips etc. Six speed box.
It's not got the OE Prodrive Edition Wheels and I think the side skirts where different. It should have deep blue faced dials with red needles. This one seems to have leather seats as well It should have a Tracker as standard.

So get paperwork documentation of it's spec.
Then you can start up and see what happens next.

Hi Wayne,

1. It has a Prodrive front bumper, it will say Prodrive on the V5 if it is one... indigo (dark blue clocks), side skirts aren't plain straight ones...
2. Red STI spec struts, six speed gearbox (LOL ?)
3. Water temp between halfway and 3/4 on the scale.
4. A tiny bit on injector rattle is possible when cold ( top end )
5. Definately check out the synchros on all the gears, early boxes have some issues, mine on sixth gear.
6. Oil leaks from cam covers....
7. jerky acceleration, lumpy idle, check that the CEL lights comes on with the ignition and then goes off....
8. PIN code for the alarm/immobiliser....
9. Tracker install certificate, your insurance will demand a copy.
10. Usual knocks from the engine.... on a dead one only !!
11. Slipping clutch in 5th/6th under load, ( up-hill as full as poss with passengers)...
12. At a decent pace, check the engine picks-up and pulls around 4500 rpm, like a VTEC kicking-in.... if it's really smooth and a bit flat then the NPS is playing up.

HTH

dunx

P.S. Smash the windscreen and tell him to fix it ( JOKE ! )
