Default Bugeye ECU Reset?

Hi

I have a 2002 WRX Bugeye the car has been mapped and has some other mod's

my question if I reset the ECU will this distroy or revert back to the original map?

also can you only reset the ECU using a cable?

I have a ELM 323 and a VagCom cable will either of those work??

thanks

Stu

You won't lose your remap, but because the Bugs have non-volatile ECUs you can't just disconnect the battery to reset the ECU. It will have evolved since the remap, but the reset will return it to the base remap settings. I cannot comment on the cables you have as I don't know them, I have a dash data monitor (PSI3) that I can use to reset mine.

Hi Jon,

Thanks for the info I will download ECUExployrer tonight and try it with the cables I have.

Do you know anyone in the Cheshire area with a cable or where I can buy one?

Thanks

Stu

Why do you want to re-set it?

Went to the meet with the SMACS guy's and they advised me it would do the car good as when I got her about 2 weeks ago she seemed to be boosting allot more than she is now on my Knock Link I was getting two green lights and felt extremly fast now only one green light and seems slightly flat in the high end revs

The Denso Bugeye ECU learns pretty fast so not sure what a re-set would achieve apart from re-setting the IAM. I'll have a think as to wether disconnecting the battery will re-set the AIM
