Default 10.16 1/4 mile on GT30 Billet

***updated 10th August, car ran a 9.91 1/4 mile at TOTB ***

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
first outing on strip this year in the pink clinic car yesterday at pod
was testing the new gt30 billet and new syncro gearkit (as ppg broke again on 2nd run at 30-130 event at marham a few weeks ago)

started off at low boost 1.4 bar with passenger

had a few problems in morning with a misfire when trying to run 1.8bar and then a broken driveshaft (after swapping to MT Drag tyres after lunch)

got 18 runs in total, 8 of them being 10.3 or quicker

best run was 10.16 at 134mph with a 1.49 60ft

video from a 10.35 run
YouTube - Scoobyclinic Impreza 2.3 GT30r Billet 10.35 @ 131mph

was hoping for higher terminal speed with arround 580 bhp and 580 ft lb but it might of been down to the 15+mph head wind.
new gearkit feels very smooth and quieter being helical and no snicking 3rd or 4th like ppg kit.
also first time had a chance to play with the launch control pat has set up which im liking, as ive always been quicker in past without it and maybe with a little tweek i might get 60ft down little more.

Mod list:
Scoobyclinic 2.3 engine, Standard STI 8 heads, GT30 billet turbo with .63 a/r housing, Syvecs ecu mapped by pat, E85 pump fuel, new 5 speed syncro gear kit (helical), exedy twin plate clutch.

car is still running standard r160 rear diff and driveshafts, this only the 2nd time it has broke a rear shaft in over 200+ drag launches

Hi,
for now we will only be doing the helical kits, some schools of thought claim them to be stronger due to a larger contact area on the teeth, so far I agree with that view

Cheers

Amazing results.

Do the SC's suffer from a snick into 3rd because mine has had one for a while and I thought it may need a syncro?

Also, what weight is the car? Full fat or semi skimmed?

Hi,

snicking was always a problem with the PPG kits, so far no snicking is evident on the SC kit

Fitting one to my scoob this weekend which will give us the opertunity to test the kit in a daily driver, this will weed out any snicking.

Cheers

That seems like a pretty decent price

Will there be a straight cut and Helical option for this?
