Yes and no. The engine was designed to run on 99 Octane but like many things people don't bother and things go wrong.
Getting one with a re-build is a good idea depending who's done it but I'd look at a Type R for more fun and toys.

i have been looking at them all so. but do they have the same problems as the p1.
i have up to £8k to spend has to be a late classic or a blob eye (only 2 i like) and it will be a daily drive no track use.
thing is i don't wanna buy a p1 then have to pay $4k plus for a rebuild

With 8k to spend you are at the top end of the type r market, and the lower end of the p1 market. I had a type r and loved it
My P1 did 95,000miles in 4 years from new without an engine rebuild.. and i drove it a Prodrive intended.
but I used always high octane fuel. - it flew on Esso unleaded..move 10 years on and I would look to buy one wth a forged engine and a remap for peace of mind, although a 1 or 2 owner car that has been cherished and run on super unleaded all its life would still be worth looking at even with 60,000 miles +
In fact I quite fancy the idea of another one... amazing cars when on the limits, the grin factor will stay with me forever. just make sure the brakes are upgraded as the Subaru standard set up suffers badly from fade when pushed.
Good Luck
Cheers
