Question

moderators - feel free to move to 'wheels, brakes and tyres' as I know it should really be in there, but I'm just trying for maximum exposure, cos I'm like that

As many know, or are fed up with hearing about the blackbeast has now got it's new movit brakes fitted and they are bedding in nicely.

However, what I want to know is, am I the only one in the UK to have this setup on their subaru? I know that there are a couple, if not more, people outside the UK that have them on a scooby, plus I think there are a few UK based Evo owners with the system, but I want to know if anyone knows, or has seen another scoob in the UK that has the movit kit on it?

To be honest, the main reason is from an exclusivity point of view, cos I'm like that Seriously though I'm not going to start jumping up and down saying mine are the best or anything like that, well, maybe, but it would always be in a joking manner, and never bitchy or nasty.

The other reason is really for comparison, to see what other users of the kit realy think.

so anyone else out there using the movit 4m6 (GT3 caliper and pad) kit?

Here's one pic of what I'm talking about.

for more have a look here

If there was meant to be a smiley in your post. ala or then ignore the angry smile above, if not then thanks for the constructive comments mate

is anyone bothered?

umm, me, plus there might be others out there who are interested in this kit but do not know anyone who has it and thus are sceptical, as was I before I purchased it.

Wink

Glad to see you have them fitted Mark.

How would you describe the stopping power now?

I have these wonderful 2pot calipers... and the addition of an anchor...

I was not abusive. Sarcastic definitely but not abusive.

I'm not bothered about what other people think of me. I was expressing a valid personal opinion. If that doesn't agree with yours such is life but get back in your pram and put the dummy in.

Markus, more than a hint of sarcasm in my reply and maybe a smiley was the order of the day. No offence meant, just my opinion.

Stopping power is, well, much better than before, but I am still bedding in, and it's getting better every day.

oh, if it was sarcastic then I'll let you off

Can understand that some (most?) will find this one of the most boring posts on here, but, a few (the chosen ones? ) might be very interested in it.

I'm a sad bugger at the end of the day! which you'll no doubt have found out by looking at my site!

What's even sadder is that I had to look at quite a bit of the site before deciding it was sad

I'm just jealous coz my PCP will almost certainly rule out mods that didn't already come with the car (unless of course he doesn't know)

Question

I've got 7 sets in the garage, had 'em for years

Markus, seriously what are your thoughts on using your setup on track? you use spacers don't you? big ones at that. Sustained periods of large cornering forces IMO will heavily stress those studs/bolts. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong - I'm no expert

Well, that's what I've been told. Now, I've not been on track yet, and I *might* go on track this year, though I've been saying that for the past 2 years! So guess we'll only find out then, but I do have the odd blast which involves some large cornering forces which has not shown any problems yet.

guess it's a wait and see type of situation

IIRC the movit brakes were once very popular on subarus - to the extent that movit used to monogram the calipers with the subaru logo - there are now so many alternatives around at a similar or better price point that they don't offer the facility any more (I think)
Don't think you are that unique but they are nice looking brakes
