I've seen a number plate I want for the Spider.
But if I pay the wedge, who owns the plate?
If the car is damaged and written off, can the insurance lay claim to my cherished plate and then resell it for big wedge?

I had my WRX written off and still retained the number. If the worst happens you get a V778/1 form from your local DVLA office, fill it out and send it back to them, they are entitled to come and inspect the vehicle but will probably make do with a copy of the insurance companies engineers report or a photo. This was the easiest part of the whole escapade to get sorted out!.
