any info would be great.

i have a my98 v4 car and i'm looking for a new speed convertor.

i would like one that mounts to the speed sensor on the gearbox rather than the one behind the clocks.

any ideas where i can get one that does not cost the earth.

Google is your friend but I got mine from Demon Tweeks for £81. I got hold of the original speed sensor plugs from a breakers yard so I didn't have to hack the existing wiring loom up to fit it in line.

If you dont mind second hand put a ad in the wanted section, I did the same and paid £15 for one.

ebay mate ,brought one last week and fitted it this weekend, little chip with 5 wires that you splice and solder into the small bit of loom,it unplugs so can be done on your bench very easy and was £25
