Default Premium Spec Euro Hatchback STI's

Couple of questions

Is is possible to purchase the PPP for a Euro import?

Who makes the head unit?
For some bizzare reason is doesn't have bluetooth?
Does anyone know if it has USB interface?

Yes you can get PPP, may need a friendly Subaru Dealer
Kenwood
Yes its built in, but only active if you fit the microphone (extra)
USB No

So it does have bluetooth then?

For example
I've a KCA BT-200 unit in my car which connects to a Kenwood head unit.
Could I conenct the BT-200 to the Subaru unit?

Probably, It's only the mic that is missing (£170 rip off from IM)

You can get the PPP but I've heard the warranty will still be void for Euro cars (another IM dodge)

USB no, but composite input in the centre consol

Cheers for that.
No point getting PPP if it voids the warranty - you could go down your own tuning route in that case.

ScoobyL (or anybody !) - do you know if there is a spare AV input to the screen.
I am trying to find out if an HKS Camp2 or Blitz R-Vit engine monitoring system (from the OBD) can be fitted so the sat-nav will still work, and you can switch between viewing the engine data and sat-nav.

StanS, Think you'll struggle with the standard head unit. The only video input is in the centre console and that feed 'video mutes' when the car moves

Cheers silver demon.
Looks like a new screen unit would need to be bought which means its very expensive - unless there is a market for my current unit second hand. Did I see somewhere that the std screen unit is Kenwood ?

Correct PPP was only Warranted for UK supplied cars.

Thanks for the link Silver demon ! Have added pages to link bar for future ref in case plan B doesn't work.
Plan B
Had a reply from my local ICE centre who think they can sort something. I'll take the car in when I get back to UK and report back in case anyone else wants to monitor engine parameters.

Sorry Urban ! It obviously took me longer than 3 minutes to read these replies, so I forgot where I'd seen it

So then

Anyone sucessfully conencted a mic to these units?

My existing kenwood mic probably wont connect as the connector is different
Kenwood said that because its OEM it means they're usually very different to actual retail Kenwood units.

£170 - don't suppose you also know what the part number is?

I don't see anything on their accessory list.
Dealer thinks it doesn't have bluetooth
Kenwood electronics say they can't help with OEM stuff(even if it is Kenwood)
Rang IM - they don't know and someone will call me back

Various internet forums say yes and some even think the mic is built into the headunit.
In one case the bloke wanted you to make a mic.

Thanks,
Shaun

If I remember correctly it's all there apart from the mic...

Give Andrew at DH cars a ring... he ordered and fitted mine so I'm sure he'll remember what it was they plugged in.

DH Cars

The mic isn't in the head unit, the Subaru mic is now mounted on my steering column

It is there without mic as you say which is nuts

OK, guys from Accessories in IM called me back
Its part number H0018FG300 and its RRP is £145

I think my dealer will be supplying that for free also - he just doesn't know that yet
Either that or there will be a fight.
THis is now my 5th brand new car from Subaru
2 turbo 2000's,
2002 STI Type UK Prodrive Style
2005 STI Type UK
