Anyone out there read about the Brabus Smart car - or - even driven one/own one ???????
OK - it may be a gimmick at the moment, but what worries me is this may well be the future to motoring in the UK ---> what with insurance rising, more speed cameras than trees, and increasing congestion etc......
I think its a worrying insight to how car ownership may well turn out - worst of all being limited to 84 mph as well .....Oh no, I'm going to have to lie down - I've got a headache.
Your thoughts please.......

Don't know the answer, but there's a letter in this months 'Evo' from a guy who sold his Impreza Turbo and got a Smart instead. They can't be that bad -- Stirling Moss has got one.

I don't know -- this is the man who holds the record for the Mille Miglia, 1000 miles on open public roads in less than 10 hours. I'll never forget the footage of him pulling away from the shadow of a light aircraft in the 300SLR Merc.

Hi all I am the guy who bought one, Its so much fun you can go flat out on the motorway without a problem, going to be doing a few things to it soon.
Neil was it on the M4 you saw the Smart between jubction 3 - 8?
By the way insurance is not cheap but fuel is well it uses less.

I've got my smart test drive booked and if I find the smart anything as nippy and nimble as people tell me I'll order a brabus smart with paddle shift before the end of the year . Only problem is that the car is still left hand drive .

I would have thought that being left hand drive would have been an advantage for a Smart as 99% or the time would be spent driving around town, therefore letting you safely park close to kerbs without wheel damage? I can't see it being a a major disadvantage on motorway journeys either, the only time would really be for overtaking on A / B roads, and in all honesty I cant see a smart being used for a whole lot of these manouvers anyway.

Hi there,
We're thinking of buying a Smart as a second car for around town, because it's semi-automatic and left hand drive - my wife's American and misses the left hooker autos :-)
There's a couple of Smarts where I live, and they're very nicely done cars, interior looks good etc. Wouldn't swap the Subaru for one though, but it would nicely compliment it - would save the Scoob from public car parks etc...
May well get one later this year.
Simon.

EVO have one/had one on long term test recently and thought it was superb.
There are bucket loads being delivered in right hand drive every week to Purfleet docks, so they should be available now if you want one.
