Default Am i been tight?

Bought a subaru sport the other week on a 2000 plate. Average miles for the year, Decat exhaust and induction.

I am getting around 50 to 60 miles for a tenner worth of petrol. I work this out to be about 30mpg. Is this normal as I was expecting more. This is even trying really steady on a motorway.

I had a clio 172 before this and got around 80 miles to a tenner, and this did not really change if I decided to put my foot down.

The Boxer engine is thirsty, even in N/A form. Then there's the 4wd system which adds to the consumption.

I use to have a Honda Prelude 2.2 vtec which used a lot of fuel and was doing 500 miles a week. Used a full tank nearly. When I brought my beloved scooby I knew it would suck fuel like oliver reed and George best at a free bar party. And to be honest I used about the same amount of fuel as my Honda. Though my mileage has dropped a lot now since changing jobs, I'm still getting stick of work collegues, my god 40 quid a week. My tank lasts a month lol.

But I must admit I'm sure I can see my needle move when I'm clearing out the cobwebs in the engine.
