Decatting scoob, how do they pass MOT?
Before getting my hawk remapped, I'm going thinking to fit a decat downpipe from Scoobyworld
Impreza Turbo 2006-2007 : Subaru Impreza Decat Downpipe
I'm assuming that this makes the car illegal come MOT, but how do so many scoobs on here pass as there appears to be a lot that have been decatted.
Or is it just a case of having to exchange the pipes over?

A lot of mot stations will fail your car if it has had a decat, but there are a few stations out there that know if you bring the car in with the cat on ,as soon as your car has passed, you will drive straight out of the garage and replace it with a decat - so pointless exercise.Never had no probs with mine, and no extra money changed hands either.

What you can get is a sports cat which should do the job.
However, thjere really isn't a need to take the cat out if you get it mapped properly.
I took the centre cat out (one of 3 cats on the newage) and got her mapped to 275bhp. Still passed the emissions too as the mapper leans out the fuel and makes sure it is running safely.
