Help - I'm running out of ideas - electrical issue rear fogs
Does someone have the correct wiring diagram for the rear foglight switch from a MY1999 car please?
I want to use it in my MY99 STi. to work with the existing rear foglight and do away with the cheap toggle switch
So far I can get the foglight to work permanently irrelavent of the switch position or not at all..
Its slowly driving me (and 'er indoors') mad as I'm running out of patience and spare wire!
even if someone can corectly identify the 6 wires in the OEM UK switch would be a great help - the search function on here and on Scoobymods wasn't much help.
I've seen 2 'correct' diagrams and neither work for me
any help would be appreciated
Thanks
Rob

There is wiring Diagrams in there fella.

but something for the layman would be easier to follow - and there isn't a specific 1999MY diagram either!

if you pull it apart you will find rear fog on 99-00 cars are not a simple switch. there is microchips in it etc.
i had same bother and in the end just got one from a 96-98 car instead, which i manged to wire in minutes.
the 99-00 one was a complete c*nt.

Cheers

the wiring diagrams on here i found to be wrong too. however they were correct for the earlier version of the switch which is a normal switch.
my car had extra pair of wires run along the interior sill, of course i assumed they were both connected to red bulb in drivers side reverse unit...... no . only one was used. so if somebody else has been there before a tip would be to not make any assumptions. also worth remembering its a switched earth and not switched live.
cant remeber connections but purple wire is live that comes on with lights, if that helps.
