Default had mine RR today, what do you think??

had it on the rollers today for the first time. 07 hawkeye STI

managed 270 bhp - 270 torque does this sound about right for standard??
i know its 280bhp but are these inflated figures from subaru?

the guy running it said it was running very very rich which is reflected in the MPG i think (currently 16-18MPG).
also running just over 1 bar.

are these figures "normal"

its my first scoob and first turbo. so not sure about all this boost stuff.
is 1 bar standard?
also it was run in 4th on the rollers is that right.

4th on the rollers is about right, some tuners use 3rd some 4th, depends totally on the setup and the operator.

Standard figures are there or there about, perhaps slightly down on what they should be but not by much at all. Not sure about standard boost of the Hawkeye STI, I do know that last time mine was rolling roaded it gave a figure of 1.44 bar boost, and my PSI3 monitor shows that my highest boost level attained to date is 1.41 bar but mine has PPP as well.

Might be worth trying to find out why it's running so rich, could be that a remap will sort the issue for you, and give you a nice little boost in power as well.

All sounds normal(ish) - do you use something like Shell V power or Tescos 99? If not then you'll gain a little more.
The OE maps come rich out of the box and its meant to be just over 1.1 bar.
Do you do a lot of town driving or like to boot it everywhere?

Did you have the AirCon on? Accounts for the 10 BHP drop off.

A/C is controlled by the ECU, and is turned off with full throttle. The A/C switch tells the ECU to turn on the A/C which it does in conjunction with raising the target idle speed, increasing the idle valve duty and turning on the fan.

Does anyone ever actually drive with full throttle?

I don't think I have felt the need to open my throttle fully ... so, for me, the AirCon would be sapping power.

The AirCon adds weight anyway ... unless, of course, the ECU 'lightens' the compressor and associated metalwork under WOT?

So in the whole time you've been driving a scoob, you've never once been stuck behind a tractor, a lorry, or some dozy idiot in a beige Rover doing 42mph on a national speed limit B-road? Or are you saying you prefer to sit behind them?

Yes I do use full throttle for overtaking where required, why what do you do then? Write them a letter asking them to pull off the road?

SSU has the traffic queue behind him, the Rover driver overtakes him while giving him the bird. I mean if he had a remap he could get more efficient power delivery and overtaking power without the need for full throttle.

PSI3 Monitor is a single DIN unit that plugs into the ECU port under the steering colum and feeds back live data from the ECU. Reports on things such as oil pressure, Coolant temp, intake temp, boost, RPM, Knock control, ignition timing etc etc

Excellent peice of kit that's very useful for just keping an eye on things in the car. Unfortunatley the company that makes them is no longer trading and they are as rare as rocking horse poo to be honest. But if you can get one it's definatly worth doing.
