I don't think its worth trying to save a couple of £'s when it comes to genuine parts, fit and forget with confidence.

i don't think you'll beat that price for a genuine one delivered, maybe a few pence but nothing worth shopping around for

however if you really want to treat the old girl........Impreza Turbo WRX GENUINE STi PINK Oil Filter & Washer on eBay (end time 21-Feb-10 15:32:03 GMT)

Agreed...oil filter is a bad place to pinch the pennies.

The material and total surface area of the filter media are very important. As are the seals on either end, between filter and can.

Not to mention the anti-drain-back valve.

Oh, the pressure at which the relief valve opens.

These parameters are very important, and a Genuine filter is the way to be sure they are in order.

I am NOT saying that only the filters marked Subaru can live up to the standards...but it's an easy way to be sure.

As the filter hangs down, there is no need for the drain back valve.
I normally use the UFI filters from Opie Oils. They are larger than the tiny thing that Subaru supply. I usually get a couple when I order oil form them.
