"Give Us Your Cash"

I think it's ridiculous that a Prodrive mod follows so quickly on the back of the release of the Type Uk Sti. This is simply evidence of the moneygrabbers at Prodrive, I bet they detuned the Type Uk to allow them to even offer a PPP. WHy couldn't this have been designed into the type UK?

Shall we send letters to our MEPs about this?

Talking

I'm not aware an official PPP has even been announced yet?
If it has, please let me know where and how much

I don't think there's anything sinister in releasing the STI T UK at 261Bhp and then a PPP afterwards. It's all down to the Emmisions regulations.

The UK STi has to pass certain Euro emissions tests. This brings down the BHP from around 280 to 261. Subaru cannot sell the car in the UK, as an offical car unless it passes these regulations.

However add ons/dealer mods etc(such as the PPP) are subject to a less stringent set of emissions standards and so Subaru can still sell the Sti Type UK ad an offical car AND we can still get the BHP back by PPP'ing/modding etc.

LB,
its all down to emissions, Prodrive themselves dont detune the car, this is how they come from the factory to meet the euro laws, the new ecu and other bits that Prodrive do are "safe" modifications, and if asked nicely, people like Mike Wood at Prodrive would be interested in your comments (great bloke BTW).
Prodrive themselves put alot of time and effort tuning cars to give us the best possible performance without ruining the car... IM then warrant to say if this is good enough to be an accessory (which it is) then warranty that in the UK.
Prodrive are not money grabbers as the cash goes to Subaru UK, but try buying the parts seperately that Prodrive provide for their performance pack, its more than value for money
