mapping opinions / drawbacks
guys
I am soon having my '94 wagon remapped when a few personal issues are resolved. I have been talking to a few in the know and basically, within a reasonable cost limit i have two options. details are as follows
car - '94 JDM WRX Wagon. TD04. 7k ecu. cone filter. cat in place. prodive rear box. everything else standard
All i want is a UK fuel mapped reliable car with maybe a touch extra power - say 260 ish
Ok option one is the ESL daughter board mapped to above spec or something like simtec that does away with the MAF mapped to above spec.
Question is, will the ESL and a good map be sufficient and provide what i need? I will never mod the car in the future for big power as i have another car for that.
Or should i really lash out on the new ecu?
running fairly low power will the ESL run any different? Will i have any compromises?
Does the Simtek provide a far better map and drive?
Not interested in multiple maps and anti lag etc
Just after some honest feedback please, ideally from someone who has driven with the different options rather than speculation
Many thanks in advance as always
Matt

Do a search for peoples experiences of Polar Performance chips or visit PolarPerformance
Your car can 97+ RON fuel anyway.
Dare i say even a manual boost controller may be an option as long as it's set up properly.
