Forged Engine?
Hi all, I would appreciate a bit of info on this. My head gasket might be gone on the engine, and rather than having it repaired, I would want to go down the forged route, I was just wondering what sort of cost would I be looking at for a 2.0 fully forged engine, also would it be possible to have the STI8 JDM engine with the avcs heads put straight into my car,or would i need to make any modifications? I have got a Simtek already in the car not sure if its possible to run avcs heads with that. Btw its a V3 Wrx.

If I were you I would speak to someone like David at API, as for costs I am sure it depends on how strong you want it to be, as a 400bhp block won't cost as much as a 500bhp capable block if that makes sense.

Thanks for the reply mate, the aim is for around 380-400bhp as thats pushing the limits on the gearbox....do you know anything about the STI8 conversion, as i know it has the AVCS heads which help a early spool up, I would ideally like the turbo to be spooling as quick as possible, as the car would mainly be used for dragging, currently have a VF22 on which i would like to take to its limits as i got a 12.3 1/4mile and it was only running on 1.2 bar at 320bhp.

Not to sure about the heads to be honey. As I said I would give one of the tuners a call, for me I would use API and have done for a while now and would not take it to anyone else
