There is plenty of life in the discs you had off me , so can't see why your saying they look as though they have been on for 5 ?? they are worn out when the grooves have gone and yours have plenty of life in them.

You say that they are making a noise , which after seeing you mentioned you had the Mintex extreme pads fitted , and this would be the only reason they would make a noise , if you had taken a moment to contact me , I would have told you to put some copper slip onto the backs , and leading and trailing edges of the pads which would have made them quite , this is something that would have been quick and easy to do ,

I think your being very unfair by all of a sudden saying what your saying and not contacting me in the last year you have had them fitted.

ian i contacted you about 4/5 time regarding this ,and all you said was to send them back as they could be warped , this was about 2 months of having them on ,
its a bit hard to do this as i didnt have any more to put on ,and needed my car for work etc etc

as for them not been worn ,they is about 1mm of groove left and a lip about 4mm round the edge

im not slagging you off mate, im slagging the product and the lack of customer service ,,iv got a right to say what i think of your services and to let other people know
you have been on here years mate and i bet you have loads of happy customers, but im not one of them

to get customers to return ,the customers have to be happy and i wasnt one of them
sorry

I dont ever remember speaking to you , if they were making a noise it would not be warped discs , it would be the mintex pads , I would never have said to send them back for being noisy , I would have recommended just putting copper slip on them

The grooves are 1mm deep brand new , as this indicates when the discs are worn , there is 2mm of usable thickness on the discs from new , you have plenty of groove left on them so plenty of life. and there will certainly not be a 4mm lip on the discs

i thought grooved discs where the way to go but i'm sure i read when you drill them you make them much weaker.

not sure how true that is but i don't think i'd ever go for anything drilled.

you should sell those grooved discs you took off they have loads of life left in them.

Yes drilled discs are not the way to go as your drilling through the grain structure which weakens them , there is a serious risk of drilled discs cracking around the holes , more so now as the pads have got a lot better and can generate more heat , and heat is the problem that causes the cracking.
I do not offer drilled discs now because of this

Looking at your photo's , I can see plenty of groove left ??
But yes after having the brakes fitted for over a year I would expect some kind of lip on the outer edge

I got some tarox disk and some pads dont no the make of the pads but cost £100, 5-6-7 months ago unsure but not long, got a nice worn lip and looks like i may only get 12-18 months out of them. Saying that sticking pistons prob dont help.

I am not arguing with you , but when you make comments as you have in your last few posts , then I have no option but to reply ,

Your pads are squeaking , your discs are not warped , but ..

I offer a 12 month guarantee against my discs warping for 12 months even if you do track days , but thats not a free ticket to get free parts because someone ' thinks ' they are warped , to supply new discs under our guarantee , we require the discs back to inspect and check them to pin point the problem , it could be something as siimple as pad deposits , it could be sticking or siezed calipers , it could be warped hub flanges , its not automatically warped discs , its better for us and the customer to find the exact problem , and cure it.

Your PM to me last week stated it would have to be a good deal for you to buy from me , not that you would never buy from me again.

If I had known last week what I know now , all I would have recommended would be a change of front pads , and under the circumstances I would have offered you them at cost , because as I have mentioned , there is loads of life in your discs.

My E46 M3 also has ' drilled ' discs , but these cars have discs that are cast with the holes already in them , then machined finished , so the grain structure follows the shape of the holes so are much stronger , but under extreme use even these will end up cracking with a harder pad

For reliability , a grooved disc is much better

Cheers Ian

Probably didn't fit the discs / pads properly in the first place and is just looking around for someone else to blame................IMO

How can someone be a "top bloke, top service" blah blah blah just for sending a set of brake discs and pads thro the post??? Is there something else going on here????

Good pics Stuart. They do look nice.

You won't have any problems with the discs being drilled & grooved with the pads supplied. If you were using them with a harsher pad I may of recommended something different, but with your use and with the pads supplied they will work a treat.

If something doesn't work, we won't sell it as we highly value all our customers.

We sell a full range of brakes including plain OEM, drilled & grooved, grooved and 2 piece race discs as well as full range if brake pads. Am always happy to have a chat with customers to find out their needs before recommending something. There are so many disc and pad combinations available.

Take it easy on the brakes for the first couple of hundred miles before putting some heat into them.

Welcome as a Aztec Performance customer and enjoy the brakes.
