any idea what this could be?
After rebuilding the engine on my wagon turbo (1996) because the bottom end was knocking, (i had a good bottom end so i swaped everything over, new gaskets etc), i dropped it back in today and ran it up, it ticks over smoothly, but when i try and rev it up - it not so much miss fires but splutters, if you get what i mean?
i have also noticed the boost guage is not working now,
so maybe i got some boost pipes the wrong way round? 
but its also smoking when reved up, but not on tick over, could this be related to the boost pipes?

cel being check engine light ? ( sorry not sure what cel is) no engine check light is on, thinking its the pipes to the boost solonoid wrong way round? but id need a picture of someones to put them right. as theres a few possibilitys. thanks for you advice so far
