sub contract fitting prices
hi people long shot but hope the odds are good.
my job is fitting windows, doors, conservatorys, fascias etc as a sub contractor to a firm.
i was wondering if anybody on here is doing the same an can tell me what the average is in fitting prices for what you get for the above as mentioned.
got paid an feel we are being ripped off from the person/firm we are contracted to.
also if the case is there any legal action i can take as im sub contract i dont know if there is much. any help is appreciated as im at the point in my life where i can leave an move on before its too late

Got no idea what your line of business pays, but I doubt you will have a legal case against them unless a) you have agreed a price in writing and they have paid you less, b) they are paying less than the minimum wage.
If nothing has been agreed in writing, I don't recon you will have a claim.

yea we fit 40 a window an dont matter the size an 50 for doors an 80 for french doors but thats been the same since 2004 when i started an says prices on things havent gone up in that time. but with a team who has been there longer they get the cream like an we just get stuck with the rough an never see the smooth. other teams makin 120 a day all week an we strugglin to make 60 a day. plus i get discriminated against because of my age

when i had my upvc door fitted and they sent the wrong one, the fitter was gobbing off about the company saying because of this he would not get his £80 as there no other jobs for him to do that day, £80 for fitting a upvc front door isn't bad if you consider the time it takes to do one.
