The sti is a all round better package. It has stronger engine, bigger brakes, 6 speed gearbox, higher bhp i think 265 compared to the 215 from the wrx. Also if you are thinking of modyfiying the car the sti is a better car to start with.
The sti also has some exterior differnces. headlights, spoiler, side skirts and alloys are different to the wrx.

Thanks for the reply. I live in the states now, so I was looking at the option of converting a wrx to sti spec.
It sound like for the cost of upgrading I may as well get a blob eye sti.

I converted my Bugeye to STi Spec and it costs a lot of money and typically would say just get a blob eye STi. Like Dunx said you can just put a Bugeye front end on it and be set. I converted my Bugeye because well I love it and I wanted an EJ207 and not the EJ257.
