Welcome
What bug do you have? (wrx or sti? though im guessing wrx here)
You would need a high flow cat and a remap, that should get you through an mot

as your car stands it wont pass an mot... in order for it to pass you will need a catted downpipe or a sports cat downpipe. failing that get yourself a 'friendly' mot tester

a remap is highly recommended if you have decatted, if it has already been mapped then you will require a map tweak if you fit a decat up-pipe

You may get a check engine light (cel) pop up after doing that up pipe, though its recommended to remove it as there are known cases of those exploding into the turbo

Hi sorry to threadjack a little. Iam a newbie to the impreza.
I read there are 3 cats on the bug eye WRX. which of the 3 can be removed to still pass an m.o.t legally.

A mate says just leaving the up pipe cat will be fine. but i thought i would check on here first.

think it would be the one in the downpipe,as the sti versions come with a catless uppipe, or decat them all and put an sti uppipe on the get a hiflow cat put on, u still get preformance and be legal, but sure someone will be along soo to correct me

It wont pass an MOT with just the uppipe cat. Will need one other in there - probably the downpipe cat is the easiest to leave in situ.

Ah right thanks for that. so get decat up pipe and decat middle section and sports cat in the downpipe and all will be well.

then go get it mapped.
