Default How much should I put my car up for sale for?

Hello there,

I'm going to sell my car in the near future, but have no idea how much to sell it for.

It's a MY99 UK turbo in sonic blue, which I understand is quite rare, as i rarely see them on pistonheads in this colour apart from P1's. Purchased from new by my dad in 99, I then bought it off him July 09 completely standard, i've performed all mods to the car.

It's got 42k miles on the clock, FSH, HPI clear, MOT & Tax, 2 owners (me and my dad, so we know everything about the car). The car drives lovely, no nasty noises etc.

With regards to mods, everything is just aesthetics. sti6 spoiler, ht_autos rear diffuser/bumper, ht_autos skirts, p1 front splitter, fog lamp covers, 17" pro race 1.2 gloss black wheels w/toyo proxes tyres & an angled vortex afterburner rear silencer. All internals are completely standard.

Bodywork has a couple scratches and little dings, barely noticeable. Which is understandable for a 10 year old car.

I have no idea how much to sell it for?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

cheers.

Sorry don't know what its worth, but I don't think you will have any trouble selling as it looks like a lovely example.
Good luck.

Why do you want to sell after just 6 months will be a big question in buyers minds - have an answer ready.

Price - no idea really - looks a great car and good history, should sell very easy.

wow, I didn't expect that much. I thought it'd be more around the £4k mark. Hopefully your prediction will come true!

Hmmm... do you think "because I want a type 25" would be a fair answer?

Around the 4k mark is about spot on, my first one sold last april for less than 5k, 2 owners (myself from new and then a 2nd owner who also pampered her ) 45k, fssh, ppp, a/c, 18 inch wheels (not my doing, I had 17's on there which imho looked better ), defi's, uprated brembo brakes with AP 304mm discs and mintex 1144 pads, clifford concept 600 alarm and tracker etc, MY00 W reg in sonic blue, then had another scoob in between that (loved that car, sold due to changing jobs ) and in dec 08 picked up a v5 wrx sti type R with 27.5k on the clock (been in uk since new ) for 5k.
5.5-6k is waaaaaaaaaaaaay too expensive tbh for an 11 year old turbo, even with low miles, most go for 3k on a 99 for a good one, maybe 3.5 hence go for 4k

My response would be, "Then why didn't you buy the Type 25 instead of your Dads car?"

That doesn't take away the fact that it looks a great car, however! There is so much modified tat about that this one stands out as quality ..... sell easy.
