Did mine about 8 weeks ago for first time and found it very easy, plug spanner and extension on rachet, took me 20 mins max. i removed the airbox obviously and i removed the washer bottle, wouldnt of needed too but just gave me more room. You may want to get one of them flexi knuckles aswell, they realy help.

It's much simpler than you would think .... I put my change off for a long time, thinking it looked tough - finally built up the courage and, bam, - really simple

well on a classic it would be a pain in the **** changeing them leaveing the airbox on, and for the sake of 2 bolts i took the washer bottle out as it did give more room to work with. Just makeing it as simple as poss realy.

I took the bolts of out the washer bottle, disconnected the multi plug but left the water hose attached and just moved it...

airbox and battery has to come out, the socket you need is a 16m spark plug socket. and various sizes of extensions and maybe a flexi knuckle but I didn't need the flexi.

Here's a tutorial...

^^ I did the same as that ^^

Just positioned the water bottle out the way - no need to drain and remove completely.

Make sure you double check the plug gap, even if they are new from the box, really important. If the gaps are wrong imprezas hate it!

Don't worry so much about what make the plugs are. What I meant was double check the plug gap. If the gaps are wrong the engine may run lumpy or misfire.

In my car (when I had it!!) the plug gap was very very slightly too big and that make the car misfire slightly about half way through the revs.

It would be silly to to all that work only to have to take the plugs out again.
