How can I tell if the impreza i've bought has been "chipped"?

Check the ecu and see if their is any extra bits soldered in. I would have thought that a2001 would have been mapped rather than chipped.

Can you check on the EcuTEK website to see which vehicles/ECU's have the license?

That would be awesome if that was the case.
It would make selling/buying Ecutek'd cars and ECU's easier.

No.

Chipping and Mapping are two different things.

Only way to see if mapped is to get a mapper to connect to it and see.

Chip can be seen by removing ecu and checking for add-ons as said.
